The Mississauga Writers Group has been in existence since January 2013 and we have grown to over 160 members. Stay tuned to our yearly Word Fest anthology along with our other anthologies. If you are interested in getting published in our anthologies, please contact us and become a member.
This part of 2024 celebrations celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the city of Mississauga. 2024 was a wonderful time for our group. Our quarterly e-Zine is full of art, photos along with poetry and prose. We are proud to be displaying student and member art and photos which encourages their creativity.
We had our 3 Writing Contests again this year. They were the Poetry, Seniors and Young Voices Writers and the winners will again receive Indigo Gift certificates for $100, $75, and $50. Come celebrate another year of writing. Check out our winners this year.
Our meetings are always the second Saturday of the month. This year we changed our location to the Meadowvale Community Centre in the Program Room #1. Our meetings start time is 9:00 am to 1 pm.

Maximum 3 submissions per contest.
Maximum length:
Prose 1000 words or poetry 250 words each submission.
Formatting:
Word or compatible program.
Permission:
Permission by parent or guardian is required for 16 and younger. Permission form will be included with the submission.
Additional Files:
Short 2 sentence bio.
Submit your poetry or short story for a chance at winning $100 1st, $75 2nd or $50 3rd Indigo Gift Certificate prizes. The winning submissions will be featured in Peel Weekly News and all entries will be included in our yearly anthology.
