Anjula Evans is an author and singer-songwriter. She is also a brain injury survivor. The arts have provided a catharsis for her, and have brought healing into her life.
Anjula was working as a Children’s Therapist and Musician/Music Teacher, when she was in a car accident that left her with a brain injury. She has worked hard in her rehabilitation, and considers the accumulation of baby steps to be something to celebrate, especially when she looks back and sees how far she’s come.
Anjula began writing and illustrating children’s books on emotional wellness 10 years ago, and later progressed to writing novels for YA and adults. Writing for children in a way that connects her to her previous field has been meaningful.
Anjula recently finished her MA in Creative and Critical Writing. This is her second Master’s Degree—her first is in Social Sciences (achieved pre-accident). Anjula also continues to write and perform her own music, accompanying her singing on piano and guitar.
